What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, self-starter with proven ability to reconcile accounts, create consistent, accurate financial statements, and create and maintain consistent accounting practices and processes.


We are seeking someone with a strong background in GAAP accounting principles and proven experience maintaining accounting records according to those principles. This position will work directly with our Accounting Manager and will be a key contributor to planning for, monitoring and measuring Discogs’ financial success.


The successful candidate is a natural problem-solver who is highly organized, numerical, results-driven, with meticulous attention to detail, and loves working as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.



What You’ll Accomplish

  • Prepares complete and accurate account reconciliations ensuring all reconciliations tie to the month-end general ledger balance.
  • Prepares complete and accurate financial reports related to budgets, general ledger accounts, expenses, and financial statements in a timely manner each month.
  • Manages and reports on Company credit cards ensuring cards are appropriately used according to Company policy and receipts and business purpose explanations are appropriately and timely submitted for processing by the cardholders each month.
  • Prepares annual operating budget analyses and schedules as assigned.
  • Collaborates with budget managers to resolve questions and issues regarding their accounts and budget to actual cost center performance.
  • Assists with gathering and preparing the information and data necessary to support preparation and filing of annual income tax returns.
  • Prepares and files annual personal property tax returns and ensures timely payment of any taxes due.
  • Reconciles and monitors shareholder distribution accounts and ensures all tax distributions are made timely and accurately.
  • Creates additional analyses and reports as needed by stakeholders, especially those that support a culture of data driven decisions.


What You’ll Contribute


Essential

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in accounting or business administration from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 7+ years progressive accounting department work experience. Experience working in a variety of accounting systems developing and maintaining efficient and effective processes and procedures to support the consistency, accuracy and timeliness of the recording of accounting transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel/ Google Sheets skills and experience using computerized accounting systems, Sage Intacct, preferred.
  • Highly organized and able to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines on a consistent basis.
