What We’re Looking For

Discogs is seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to help us continue to meet our increasingly complex global tax obligations. This person will be responsible for preparing and analyzing the financial information necessary to support our international tax filings and will collaborate with the Finance Director and other business stakeholders on all global tax compliance matters.


What You’ll Accomplish

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual tax information to support Discogs’ global tax filing obligations.
  • Work with external tax advisors and technology partners and internal product and engineering teams to establish and maintain appropriate systems and processes to ensure accurate, timely global tax compliance.
  • Assist internal accounting staff in understanding and accurately recording tax liabilities and payments.
  • Stay informed on developments in international tax law, tax technology and best practices as they apply to Discogs.
  • Support Finance Director on ad hoc tax related projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a consistent commitment to Discogs core values and operating principles.
  • Work with your team on planning and completing department goals that align with overall business objectives. 
  • Share knowledge and contribute to overall team performance by consistently delivering high quality, accurate work.
  • Be an effective communicator by listening carefully, asking questions, and being transparent, timely, and diplomatic across all levels of the organization. 
  • Stay informed on what is happening within the business. 



What You’ll Contribute

  • 7 to 10 years progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 to 5 years indirect tax experience ideally gained in an online marketplace, retailer or technology company
  • Working knowledge of global indirect tax laws and compliance best practices
  • Demonstrated experience working with large data sets to produce accurate analysis and workpapers that are clearly presented and auditable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting/financial/tax software and analysis tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Professional tax or accounting qualification an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
