Who We’re Looking For

The objective of the Product Specialist role is to manage the backlog and be responsible for day to day development and implementation progress that delivers successful sprints. This role is heavily focused on using agile principles and clearly organizing the team’s backlog to help them achieve their goals. This role will support and work closely with the Product Manager and other Product Specialists to ensure the roadmap is executed in a way that delivers value to our end users. 

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Facilitates meetings using agile principles & practices (planning meetings, daily stand-ups, demos & retrospectives)
  • Tracks the progress of the Sprint on a daily basis in order to be able to take proactive measures ahead of time where required to help the team to achieve the sprint goal
  • Writes user stories to expected standards and ensures they are properly prepared for development  
  • Prepares user testing plans prior to both small and large scale deployments
  • Helps facilitate data collection from any number of sources such as Google Analytics, Metabase, Firebase, etc. for product analyses and internal/external communication. 
  • Interfaces with CS to take in, replicate and track bug reports and other product-level communications
  • Monitors forums, relevant Slack channels and CS ticket trends
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of web analytics tools and agile project management software
  • Ensures the development team is being effective and productive by protecting them from external distractions and actively removing impediments to their progression
  • Supports and works closely with the Product Manager, especially with respect to refinement and maintaining the product backlog
  • Effectively communicates within your internal team and to outside stakeholders about project progress and potential blockers
  • Collaborates and regularly engages with team of Product Coordinators to support and improve the standards set forth within the Product Center of Excellence

What You’ll Contribute

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • CSPO certification preferred
  • Possess some knowledge of the functions & operation of your department.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Job requires specialized computer skills.  Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software
  • Possesses some knowledge of web data analytics tools such as Google Analytics; e-commerce websites; operations of a large scale, high traffic, international websites; service-oriented architecture and Microservices; APIs; automated testing; continuous deployment
